Knight Barry Title Group is expanding into the self-described “pulse of Florida” after an acquisition in Deerfield Beach. KBT purchased Bailey Woodruff Title Company Inc. from founder Mary Stefl. The office, located near the Broward-Palm Beach County line, now becomes the company’s seventh Florida location.
Stefl has built a business that is in tune with the local market and focused on building relationships with customers and community. Her office has always had international flavor to help cater to a variety of buyers and sellers. Deerfield Beach has one of the largest Brazilian populations in the US and Stefl has already suggested a fluent French speaker should be added to the team because of the number of Canadians who buy property in the area.
KBT’s COO Craig Haskins and CEO Jeff Green are excited to be taking over such a respected operation. They always say Knight Barry Title doesn’t grow just to grow and are always searching for companies and people who believe coming on board with KBT is beneficial for all parties involved.
Stefl is staying during a transition period, while employees Lorna Tritt, Sarah Parker, and Stephanie Sylvester have accepted positions with KBT. Stefl is grateful for the connections she’s made over the years, which is why finding the right buyer was so important to her. She is also eager to see the new heights her team reaches as part of the Knight Barry Title family.
“The Tri-County area is so vibrant, eclectic and different compared to other areas in Florida. It’s a wonderful place, and there are so many opportunities here in South Florida,” she said. “Once established, the sky's the limit if Knight Barry Title wants to keep going forward here.”
